Greek culture and Roman culture have influenced each other in a thousand ways and occasions. In the Place where Rome was born, a few steps from the Circus Maximus, there is an area where you can find traces of the proximity of the two peoples. The so-called Greek coast or the Greek shore is the place where the Greeks who escaped from their homeland because of persecutions by the army of Leóne III Isaurico emperor of the East, formed a community called ” Schola Greca “(Greek school).
Very soon, however, the Hellenic communication had become so numerous that it was no longer possible to speak of “Greek schola,” but of Greek shores.
